EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE FOR SUCCESS
People often handle life as they do bad weather.
They while away the time waiting for it to stop.
Yet the tide of opportunity comes to everyone.
Opportunity knocks all the time, but you've got to be ready
for it.
When your chance comes, you must have the equipment to take
advantage of it.
The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong,
for time and chance happen to everyone.
Take a second look at what appears to be someone's "good
luck."
You'll find not luck…but preparation, planning and
success-producing thinking.
When you're prepared for opportunity, your chance for
success is sure to come.
The season of failure…is the best time for sowing the seeds
of success.
Decide that 2008 will be your year for success and prepare
for it to happen.
|
|
YOU CLIMB A MOUNTAIN ONE STEP AT A TIME
Everyone who got where they are…had to begin where they
were.
Your opportunity for success is right in front of you.
To attain success or to reach your goal, don't worry about
having all the answers in advance.
You just need to have a clear idea of your goal and move
toward it.
Don't procrastinate when faced with a difficult problem.
Break your problems into parts and handle one part at a
time.
Develop a tendency toward action. You can make something
happen today.
Break your big plan for success into small steps and take
the first step right away.
Success starts with a first step. |

Barb Stegemann
Business
woman, newspaper columnist, and author, Barb Stegemann has been
delivering talks on ec onomic
development to business audiences for years. Ranked by
The Chronicle Herald newspaper
as one of eight
people to watch in 2008 in taking the province of
Nova Scotia forward, Barb has embarked on a speaking tour that
empowers women in their own communities to connect with their
voting and buying power.
Her first
book,
The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen launched on
International Women’s Day and sold out in the first three
weeks. She is booked on a speaking tour across Canada and
donates 40 per cent of book sales to the cause when working with
non-profits in air of raising money to support women in need.
The title of
the book is a play off of the Philosopher in Plato’s Republic
and she brings the wisdom of stoic leadership to the every day
woman with a clear goal to narrow the gap between rich and poor
through empowerment.
This book is much like Barb herself. It serves as a powerful
touchstone that gently yet irrevocably, forces you to look
inward. And with that introspection comes an unavoidable
awareness that each of us is a potential agent of change.
-
Dawn Chafe, Editor, Atlantic
Business Magazine, St. John’s
Readers looking for a path to a brighter future for themselves
and their community will find
The 7 Virtues
