David Wicks is the Dean of the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University. Dr. Wicks' research interests are in organizational behavior and strategic management. He has written one book and numerous journal articles, serves as a referee for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada's grant programs and speaks regularly at the Academy of Management, European and Group Organization Studies, Standing Conference on Organizational Symbolism and Administrative Sciences Association of Canada conferences. He joined Saint Mary’s in 1996 as an Assistant Professor of Management, and since that time has been the Chairperson of the Department of Management and has received the Award of Teaching Excellence by the MBA Student Society (2003) and the Full-Time Professor of the Year Award at the Saint Mary's University Commerce Society (2002). He is also actively involved with the Sobey MBA’s case competition team that represents Saint Mary’s at the MBA Games and the John Molson International MBA Case Competition. He holds a BComm (Honours) from Carleton University, BA (Music) from Dalhousie University and earned his MBA and PhD from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
